- I am not motivated by personal attention or praise because all I do should bring glory to God, not myself. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men" ~Colossians 3:23.
- My team is always more important than I am therefore I am happy to make someone else successful. "Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others" ~Philippians 2:4.
- I realize that everyone has a will to win, but what should really make us different is our desire to work hard and to prepare for what lies ahead. "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest" ~Proverbs 6:6-8.
- Whenever a fault is called on me, I will accept the call whether it is right or wrong. "For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men." ~II Corinthians. 8:21.
- When I am praised for a good game, I will remember who really deserves the glory. "The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but man is tested by the praise he receives." ~Proverbs 27:21.
- I will take opportunities to congratulate, greet or help my opponents because God loves them, and so should I. "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." ~Matt. 5:16.
- I have a holy obligation to love my teammates from the heart and let that show in my words and actions. "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." ~John 13:35.
- I realize that God expects me to keep giving a 100% effort even when the situation is difficult. "Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons." ~Heb. 12:7.
- I will treat others with the same compassion which God extends to me, even if I feel I have been wronged. "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." ~Eph. 4:32.
- I will do everything I can to compete fairly, and with integrity. "Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules." ~II Tim 2:5.
