1. PRINCIPLE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

·         To play a leadership roll and work closely with the board and other church groups in the development, promotion and implementation of programs and activities;

·         For children, youth and young families.

·         In the area of Pastoral Care and Community Outreach.


2. DUTIES:

·         Prepare and preach sermons and work with the board in the planning and coordination of worship services.

·         Perform the administration of the sacraments

·         Perform wedding and funeral services

·         To be actively involved in congregational fellowship and community outreach by assisting the board in the planning and organizing of programs and activities. Encourage the members to become involved and assist them in the development of social and support groups, mission and service projects, and with raising the visibility of Josephburg Community Church in the larger community.

·         To work with the various church groups, and to advise and assist in the development of educational programs and activities. This will allow the young people and adults of the Josephburg Community Church the opportunities for the growth needed to develop and maintain their spirituality.

·         Provide pastoral care and support to individuals, families and especially shut in members.

·         Provide personal and crisis counseling.

·         Attend or participate in various Church Committees and Official Board meetings.

·         Live in the community, preferably in the manse.

 

3. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

·         A member of ministry

·         The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people of all ages (bridge the generation gap.)

·         A desire to serve people in need.

·         Effective verbal, listening, written and interpersonal communication skills.

·         The desire to live and work in a small community, by participation in community events.

·         Knowledge of music and the willingness to use a variety of contemporary and traditional music. Some music ability would be an asset.
