Job Description:

West Meadows Baptist Church is a growing congregation with a heart for proclaiming the gospel of Christ to the West end of Edmonton and around the world. We are seeking a dynamic individual who values relational ministry with students and leaders and who desires to see people mature in their faith and relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Personal:

  • has a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and assurance of salvation
  • shows evidence of continued personal growth and maturity
  • baptized by immersion
  • agrees with Statement of Faith of the Alberta Baptist Association http://eh.robis.net/uploads/JID44_statebelief.pdf
  • member (or willing to become) of West Meadows Baptist Church
  • seeks to model the Biblical characteristics of pastors as taught in 1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1

Values:

  • values missions both at home and abroad with the intention of teaching and creating opportunities for students
  • desires to see students commit their lives to Christ and able to provide opportunities through both programmatic and relational ministry
  • desires to work alongside and partner with parents of students within the ministry.

Skills:

  • ability to connect and relate with a variety of people/age groups.
  • teachable, desiring to grow in all areas (both personal and ministry)
  • gifted in spiritual leadership, teaching, pastoral ministry
  • able to vision and set achievable goals in line with the church’s vision
  • able to train and equip leaders (both students and volunteers)

Education/Training:

  • completed post-secondary education (diploma, degree, certificate)
  • Bible/Theological training an asset - not essential.
  • all ministry experience will be considered

Accountable:

  • accountable and reporting directly to the Senior Pastor
  • submissive/cooperative attitude to the leadership of the ministry council and fellow-staff members
