CAMP DIRECTOR 
Kenosee Lake Bible Camp (Saskatchewan)

Kenosee Lake Bible Camp (KLBC) is searching for a person to fill the position of camp director.  KLBC operates as one of the 11 Canadian Sunday School Mission (CSSM) camps in Saskatchewan, whose mission is: “To present and promote the gospel, evangelize the lost, and disciple the converted”.  As the camp director you will be employed as a full-time CSSM missionary, report to a board of directors and be responsible for management of all operational functions of the camp.  Duties will include planning, organizing, leading and directing all aspects of KLBC including: summer camps, camp operations, facility management, CSSM obligations, camper follow-up and camp promotion with constituency churches. 

KLBC is situated in south-east Saskatchewan located within Moose Mountain Provincial Park approximately 60 km south of Whitewood and 25 km north of Carlyle.  Facilities at the camp include a winterized lodge, dining hall, enclosed swimming pool, nurse’s station and cabins to accommodate staff and campers.  The camp operates from the end of June through the September long weekend running various camps for approximately 700 children a summer ranging in age from 7 to 18, as well as a family camp held on the August long weekend.  The camp is supported by a number of churches from within the constituency, which extends throughout south-east Saskatchewan and into Manitoba.

Key responsibilities for the position include:
  • Reporting to a board of directors manage and direct all aspects of the camp in accordance with CSSM’s mission, vision, values and guidelines
  • Insure the practical application of the concept of a Christ –centered camp
  • Direct and manage camp operations and facilities 
  • Complete staffing actions, including hiring, training, coaching, and discipline
  • Communicate effectively with campers, staff, board members, volunteers and constituency churches
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with pastors and youth leaders within the constituency 
  • Initiate and maintain camper communication and follow-up program
  • Attend missions and camping conferences as required
  • Prepare and deliver marketing and promotion of the camp

Minimum Qualifications
  • Have a passion for camp ministry
  • Comply with the principles and practices of the Canadian Sunday School Mission
  • Have experience, skills and training in camping and/or children and youth ministry 
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities, good communication skills and maturity in decision-making

Related Information
  • Seasonal accommodation is provided at the camp.  Off season residency is expected to be within the constituency, preferably relatively close to the camp
  • As a CSSM missionary you will be expected to raise half of your salary through missionary support by the end of the first year of employment
