Glendon Evangelical Church (Glendon, AB)

The Glendon Evangelical Church is seeking a full time pastor. We seek someone who will lead our congregation and one who will work with us in being community focused and strive to live the gospel by showing Jesus’ love in practical ways.   We would like a family man with a wife that will support him. 

We invite applications with:
  • Pastoral experience if at all possible
  • a good track record in previous ministries of church growth, 
  • ability to demonstrate genuine love and acceptance of people in the congregation/community,
  • good teaching, preaching and communication skills.
  • good leadership, motivational and organizational skills

Some general facts that might be helpful to a potential pastoral candidate:
  • we are evangelical, not charismatic, independent + not affiliated with a parent organization. 
  • a desire to reach out into the community with the Good News of the Gospel
  • our church has a congregation of around 60 (some older but the majority are younger families with younger children)
  • our worship blends traditional with contemporary styles 
  • have graded SS classes (nursery to adult) and an active AWANA club.
  • Manse/pastoral housing available

The community of Glendon has:
  • K-12 school
  • Health clinic and drug store
  • grocery store, restaurants, confectionary, Post Office
  • Ice arena, Large community hall, Senior’s complex, curling rink
It is an agricultural based community and also is connected with oil industries. There are 2 larger towns: Bonnyville 40 km east and St Paul 48 km southwest of Glendon
