Banff Park Church is a Baptist in doctrine church and is a member of the Associated Gospel Church of Canada. The church is located in Banff National Park and is popular destination with tourist and has an active local community.  We are currently seeking a full time discipleship pastor who will grow, teach, lead, train, care, and preach with an emphasis on the youth and young adults under the direction of the Elders Board and Preaching Pastor.

 
Key accountabilities / Activities:
  1. Grow – Personal growth in relationship with God, devoted to prayer, and ministry of God’s word (Acts 6:1-7, Psalm 119)
  2. Teach - Biblical Discipleship that is entirely from God’s Word (Col. 1:25-29; 3:16,17)
  3. Committed to proclaiming Christ completely from all of Scripture 
  4. Dedicated to present every Christian complete in Christ (Gal.4:19)
  5. Convinced that a growing knowledge of the Son of God will produce Christ likeness (Ephesians 4:11-16)
  6. Lead – A team of faithful leaders (2 Timothy 2:1,2; 3:14-4:5)
  7. Recruit and lead spiritually mature adults to mentor youth/young adults
  8. Recruit and guide peer to peer ministry team
  9. Train – Believers in godliness from scripture (1 Timothy 4:1-16, Acts 20:17-32)
  10. Care – Pastorally as an Elders, for the whole church   (Hebrews 13:7-9,17, 1 Peter 5:1-5 1 Thessalonians 2:7-12)
  11. Preach – The Gospel exclusively from God’s Word according to sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:1-5)

Position Requirements:
  • Meet the qualifications of an Elder found in scripture (1 Tim. 3:1-7. Titus 1:5-9)
  • Live with an attitude of humility, being shaped by prayer (Philippians 2:1-11, Acts 6:4)
  • Evidence of a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Possess a strong foundation of growing biblical knowledge
  • Experience in successfully leading and training a ministry team
  • Demonstrate organizational ability, faithfulness to complete task and keep word
  • In agreement of AGC doctrinal statement and all Banff Park Church documents
 
Special Conditions:
  • Candidate will be accountable to Elder’s Board - For ministry responsibilities including a 12 month probationary period with ministry review
  • Candidate will be accountable to Preaching Pastor  - for practical day to day ministry details
  • Banff Park Church will require a current criminal record check with the vulnerable sector information
  • Candidate must be affirmed by our denomination (Associated Gospel Churches of Canada -AGC) through an approval process including a “Compatibility Questionnaire” and “Doctrinal Interview”
  • AGC Policy dictates that Pastoral Ordination Candidates and all Elders must be godly male leaders
  • Candidate must be able to work with housing provided realizing the higher cost of living in Banff
  • Candidate will complete a 2 week “Candidating” interview with a congregational vote to follow
