Long Term Care/Dementia visits/assisting with Recreation programs.
Volunteer Job Description
Visiting with seniors with dementia (possibly one on one), assisting with portering residents in wheelchairs to recreation programs, and assisting during recreation programs (always with a staff member)
The majority of our residents are 65+ with moderate to significant chronic health diagnoses. We do have a minority population of residents under the age of 65 with significant health diagnoses/disabilities. We have a total of 120 residents living at the Grande Prairie Care Centre.
Location:
:Grande Prairie Care Centre - 9705 94 ave GP.
Dates & Times
Any time between the hours of Sat-Tues & Thurs: 10-4:30, Wed & Fri 10-7:30pm. We're very flexible so can accommodate any of the student availability.
Frequency of Involvement
Minimum 1.5 Hours/Week
Positions Available
Max 3 students, any gender.
Requirements
- Criminal Record Check & Brief (1 hour) orientation.
