Old Testament II BT208 **

Old Testament II explores the historical narrative of the Old Testament from the time of the settlement of the Promised Land (Joshua) until the divided Kingdom following the death of Solomon (I Kings 11).  In addition four of the five wisdom books (Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs) will be introduced.  In the historical section attention will be given to God’s faithfulness in keeping his covenant contrasted by an increasingly downward spiritual decline of God’s people.  The wisdom literature will reveal an expansion of the covenant people’s responsibilities as well demonstrate a proper response to God as a covenant person.

[Prerequisite: Old Testament I] (3 hours)
